Why Sundays are better
5/30/2011 -
I realized this morning why Sundays are better, and it's such a simple thing. It's because I don't listen to the news.
We generally take our time getting up on a Sunday then have a leisurely breakfast, then work in the yard or fill our time until dinner time, and then only switch on the box to watch our favourite program/s. I can't imagine being linked to things electronic on that one day. Even though we may not be physically resting, we are resting from the world's hubble bubble toil and trouble.
And feel more refreshed on Mondays because we did so.

You described my Saturday and Sunday. Don't get me wrong my weekends are busy with shopping for groceries, laundry and general housework and yardwork but I don't check the internet or watch the news. It is wonderful downtime to disconnect in that way.

You've said a lot in a few sentences, Celia. I know I don't pull myself away from these things often enough.. although I do on occasion. Thanks for the reminder )
