The downside and the upside
5/25/2011 -

While not eating much, well, hardly anything actually, which is the down side, makes me realize how much I love food and how I miss it, even for one day. But food is so delicious, isn't it?

Food is also necessary in order to survive. But now, eating so little, I wonder just how addicted we have become to it. I sometimes look at those charts that say how much we need every day, yet if I ate all that I would be as big as a house. But we are encouraged to do so to have optimum health.

We're also encouraged by some to take extra vitamins and supplements to have this optimum health. We're always stuffing something into our mouths, or drinking something, or popping some pill or other. It's as though feeding ourselves has become an addiction, not a survival mode.

Just thinking about it as I sip my boiled water and entertain another bite of a banana J. I'm hoping I'll lose a couple pounds this week. That's the up side.

Are you doing this as a cleanse? I have moments of feeling so hungry, I cannot stand it and others when the thought of food really makes me faint. Suppliments are something I am working on as a good health builder.

No, not a cleanse, although it will probably work out that way. I had stomach flu.

I ended up losing about a pound and a half with my stomach flu. Like you, I'm working on eating the best foods to keep the weight loss going. Not counting the Raisinettes I ate this morning, of course.
