The Tumor is Gone - Life Continues to Beckon
12/18/2010 - Susan Terbay

I'm home. I felt your prayers, your blessings, your everything yesterday as I awaited my surgery. Two chaplains of the hospital on duty stopped by and the cancer counselor stopped by all with prayers! My sons needless to say were taken a bit back by such spirituality - hoped it rubbed off on them!!! :)

This journey started with angels and certainly is continuing with them. My prayer/hope was that the cancer would be confined to the tumor itself and not involve the lymph nodes which is what happened – no lymph node involvement. The doctor/surgeon will get the definite final results on everything by Tuesday.

It was an adventure to say the least at the hospital with my two sons - who I limited to talk about the weather or Christmas or fun things - politics were not on the agenda as mother's blood pressure was high enough and they agreed! You have to know my children to understand that we are a political family and discussion can get intense. I spent the night at my daughter Jen's house. It was decided that was the best route to go even though I would have loved to come straight home (it seems when I got drugged my power over my children and my wishes become mute) but it worked out and my youngest daughter Jeanette brought me home later this morning. She was the one with the doctor after the surgery and the one I trusted to understand what had happened. Jen was then relayed the message and then the message sent onto all of you. It was a family thing all the way...

I'm very blest in so many ways - family, even the children's dad was there with them - which pleased me because they do need him even though they may not always realize how or why, we are family - dysfunctional but family all the same - we just put the 'fun' into dysfunctional! I'm blest with co-workers who are not only co-workers but friends and I'm blest with friends throughout my life.

I feel fine. I hope to take this journey onto a path of healing not just for me, but for my children and for those who join me on this path.

Life is to be treasured and savored for it only comes once - don't allow others to take your joy away from you - give them the joy of you instead.

peace and blessings always

I'm very glad to hear that your news is positive! This message is alive with your spirit, and I thank you for that. I love how you put emphasis on 'fun' in dysfunctional. Your entire message is so upbeat and means more to me than you can know, but perhaps understand. Sometimes I get so caught up in what the dysfunction in my family can, and has resulted in that I forget to be a happy fun person. Thank you Susan, for putting that word in focus for me, and thank you for being who you are.
