The business cycle appears to have reached the bottom. This low level of activity is likely to go on for some time. They call it an L shaped recession. We have had them before, in fact I experienced one as a business owner. Jobs were lost and orders were slow and it went on for 18 months. This well might rival that period.
So, what do you do to get around this time and keep your own business healthy? First thing is to forget what has been lost and thing about what new needs there are that you can fill. Can you enlarge your service area? Can you provide a greater variety of products or services? Can you find a strategic partner to merge with?
I heard someone complain that the economy is bad and likely to get worse. It is not a given that will happen but if you cease to believe in what you are doing and what is possible, I guarantee that it will. Look for the glass to begin to fill and I think that it will.
