How do you know when it’s time to clean the refrigerator? I’m not referring to the occasional swipe of the dishcloth given to the outside when the multi-colored smudges become obvious enough that guests think your kids have been finger-painting on the appliance’s surface. No—I’m talking about the real deal, the scary business of emptying containers in which brand-new life-forms are evolving, and using cleansers powerful enough to erode the lining of your lungs in order to remove the mystery stains that run along the inside back wall.
